Peace of Mind

We live in an age of speed. Everything we do must be accomplished quickly, so we can move on to the next item on our daily “To Do” list. We want to cram as much as possible into our daytime routines. To make matters worse, television continually bombards us with new inventions that enable us to complete multiple tasks in less time. But in reality, why do we really want this? The human body benefits from moments of quiet reflection, from slowing down and taking note of the beauty that surrounds us. Meditation releases stress and anxiety and needs as little as minutes a day. An easy way to meditate is in the simple act of brewing tea. Use a teapot, not a microwave oven. Slow your tea-making process into a ceremony of sorts. Listen to the sound of your breath, inhale the aromas as the tea steeps, and simply enjoy the peace and quiet around you. This can help you still your mind and find true relaxation.
