Mark T. Wendell Tea Company started out as an import business, dealing with port, sherry, olive oil, coffee and teas, among other luxury items. Soon, however, due to the popularity of one particular smoky China tea, Mr. Wendell shifted the company's focus to tea only. He offered high quality teas, backed by a solid reputation. After his passing, the company was bought by the Johnson family, who have expanded the company's tea lines and varieties, while keeping with the same reputable quality of its founder.
