A Tea Parlour Review

Taj's Tea ParlourA few days ago, my family and I visited Taj’s Tea Parlour Brighton (England). Out of all the tea and coffee houses I’ve been to, this one proved to be the most unique and pleasant experience. Like most of you reading this article now, my family frequently enjoys all kinds of tea, so when I read the menu it was only right to try one of Taj’s unique blends and flavors. After browsing through teas ranging from Popcorn Tea to Chocolate Flake, I decided to try the house’s ever-popular Berries Tea. It was served hot in a delicate china cup, but it was the bright pink color of the tea that really caught my attention. After taking the first sip, I finally realized why this tea was so popular; its taste.

Taj's Tea Parlour - MenuSurprisingly, the Berries Tea was fruity and refreshing but calming and relaxing at the same time. The delicious blend of strawberries, raspberries and other fruits gave the tea an interesting tang and a unique taste. At first the tea was very sweet and aromatic, but it also had a lingering piquant aftertaste of a flavor I could not describe. The essence and taste of the tea was truly unique in itself, but it was the setting inside the tea house that also made Taj’s truly special.

It was like nothing I had ever seen before. The walls were plain white but lined with all kinds of interesting pictures from the thirties and forties. Not to mention, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald were playing in the background. To my right was the cake counter with about a dozen or so delicious looking cakes and pastries which, according to the owner, “sold almost instantly”. My family and I sat around an elegant wooden table. Surrounding us were all kinds of comfy and vintage looking chairs that definitely brightened up the parlor and the mood in general.

Taj's Tea Parlour

Overall, Taj’s Tea Parlour is a great place with great tea. Not only is it the essence of classic tea, but also unique modern tea. From the Caramel Tea to the chocolate brownies, this place truly has it all. I would recommend Taj’s to everyone, U.K. and U.S. alike.

So far, it has been a great privilege and a fantastic experience being with the Daily Tea and I hope you all enjoy my work for the next few weeks. Growing up in a very musical family, I play guitar, piano, bass, and drums and also perform with a rock band every so often. I’m very fond of animals as well and have quite a few pets at home. For me, tea has always been a part of my life because I have a large British ethnic background. Whenever I visit my family in the U.K, we always catch up and talk over a cup of tea. To us, tea is more than a drink, it’s a way of life.
