10-year-old Vaqar Ahmed was mesmerized when a notoriously grouchy shop owner transformed into a serene being while drinking a cup of tea. Despite the long line of people ready to purchase his goods, Mr. Razman Ali slowly sipped his cup, thoroughly enjoying each drop. It was at that moment, that Vaqar realized how integral tea drinking was to the Pakistan lifestyle. Tea was everywhere, from the street stalls to the bazaars. Young, old, rich or poor, everyone in Pakistan was drinking tea.
Tea in Pakistan is much more than a hot drink, it’s a part of the culture: connecting with each other one cup at a time. Inspired by his nation’s love for tea, now adult Vaqar Ahmed set to capture it in photographs.
